Learn about air source heat pump applications for specifying cold climate heat pumps that will optimize energy and thermal comfort performance for the home, apartment, or small business. Training will address recommended practices and informed application of design load calculations, system capacity, system type (ducted/ductless/compact-ducted), indoor and outdoor unit location(s), and duct design. This class will prepare all attendees to install air source heat pumps in cold climates below 4° F. Any ASHP installers seeking to become an NYS Clean Heat Participating Contractor must include proof of this training with their contractor application to be included in the incentive program. Students will be tested to check comprehension and retention of the course materials and receive a certificate of completion.
