PEX and PPR-CT Piping
PEX is also available in straight lengths, rather than coils, for distribution piping in both plumbing and heating systems. Straight sticks are available up to 2” diameter. For larger pipe sizes, PPR-CT is available up to 8” diameter with approved butt-fusion or socket-fusion connection methods.
Radiant Heating, Cooling & Snowmelt
Cross-linked Polyethylene pipe, or “PEX”, is commonly used in under floor heating applications. PEX diameters range from 5/16” to 5/8” for under floor and snowmelt. There are different types of PEX, depending on the manufacturing process, with the PEX “A” type being most popular and utilizing the expansion method for creating a fitting.
